EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR YOUR CRUISE VACATION

Packing for your cruise vacation is thought of as one of the most distasteful things about cruising. However, with a packing list you are assured that you have all your essentials and that you don’t forget anything.

The following list can be used as a guide, and can be modified to suit your personal tastes and preferences. The items are listed as essential and general, as well as separated by both men and women.

CRUISE TRAVEL ESSENTIALS

Travel Documents, Wallet Items, and Paperwork

• airline tickets or e-ticket confirmation
• cruise documents
• passports and visas (if necessary) or proof of citizenship (check with your cruise line for requirements)
• vaccination certificate (if required)
• driver’s license and auto insurance card – in case you decide to rent a car when ashore
• medical insurance cards and medical history (especially if traveling alone)
• copy of prescriptions and list of all medicines you are taking
• another picture ID – if you don’t take driver’s license
• credit cards – be sure to call credit card companies before traveling to alert them you are traveling outside your normal area
• ATM card
• pre-paid phone card
• cash or traveler’s checks (be sure to keep traveler’s checks receipt in separate location)
• 3 copies of airline tickets, cruise tickets, passports/visas, itinerary – pack 1 copy in carry on, 1 copy in checked luggage, and leave one copy with someone at home. Alternatively, you can scan the documents and email an electronic copy to yourself so that you can access them from any computer terminal. (I usually do both – “just in case”)

Converting Audio Tapes to CD – Even Newbies Can Do That

It’s quite easy to start Converting Audio Tapes to CD and anyone with a computer can do that. That is why if you have old cassette tapes, you can easily preserve them into CDs. Again, you no longer need to set up a professional studio to get this done. With home recording tools and your PC, virtually anyone can do it. And it’s very easy to learn how to do it too so you can really save your favorite audio with no sweat.

Home Recording Tools Needed

Virtually everything needed to start converting audio tapes to CD are available at home now. For instance, you would not have the cassette tapes if you don’t have the cassette player. Of course, most people have a computer as well. However, to get everything working you also need the cable to connect the computer to the cassette recorder. Then the conversion would only happen if you have the right Tapes To CD Software as well. Depending on the recording software, you may also need another software for actually converting the file into a listenable format.

How to Set up Your Home Recording System

You have to bring in the computer and the cassette player. Get the connecting cable as well. However, some computers have RCA outputs. That is why you need to get an RCA to 1/8- inch cable adaptor so you can connect the output of the cassette player with the input of the computer. The adaptor cable is very common in hardware stores though so this should not be a problem.

Recording and Converting Cassette Audio into Your Computer

So far, you have only connected the hardware of your setup. You also must make sure that you have the right and all the software needed in order to complete the task. First, you need the recording and conversion software. You also need the CD burn software to complete the task. If you don’t have it yet, you can easily download what you need online. You can also buy the right software (which supports recording, editing and burning in one interface) at affordable prices.

To start the process, you should open the recording program. But make sure that the input of the recording program is set to “Line In“. To commence recording, you should set the computer program to start recording and the cassette player to start playing.

Once the first track is finished you can proceed to the next one until all the tracks are recorded. After recording, you can save the tracks in your desired format, like mp3, mp4 etec.. After recording, you can also edit the tracks and remove unwanted segments, however It is not necessary in most cases.

Saving/Burning the Files to CDs

Now all you have to do is open the CD burning interface of the program and load the tracks which you just recorded in earlier step. Once all tracks are added in the burn list,  you can hit the burn button and wait for the program to complete the burning process. Its very easy to do and even the recording software will guide you throughout the process.
