i have a SATA/IDE-3.5″ HDD player Enclosure NTFS- Divx Mp3 DVD and when i plug it into my tv it says dir root?

i have about 15 films on there but i cant find them on hdd but when i hook it up to my laptop and look in the hdd the films are there,does anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it in laymens terms please and hopefully with freeware software.please help

May have to create an auto-run file or even a DVD menu of some kind.
